A film exploring the challenges that young people from diverse backgrounds have in meeting each other and building relationships.
This film was produced as part of the In One City series of projects, a community cohesion, social dialogue and filmmaking initiative working across Leeds to increase dialogue between diverse communities; explore unique cultural identities and shared values; challenge myths and perceptions and develop strategies for a peaceful and cohesive city.
At the heart of the project is collaborative film production that sees people building and sharing their stories with experienced social filmmakers. The films produced are then used to start difficult conversations between citizens in schools and within wider community settings.
This film was produced by young filmmakers working with peers from diverse backgrounds in Leeds. Additional partners in this project included Harmonious Leeds, The Leeds Migration Partnership and Screen Yorkshire. This entry was posted in Danny Tomalin, Diversity & Cohesion, Social Documentary and tagged community cohesion, community relations, community relationship building, destroying stereotypes, different backgrounds, Diversity, good citizenship, Harmonious Leeds, In One City, Leeds, Leeds Initiative, Lippy People, Myths, Screen Yorkshire, sharing experience, social cohesion, social dialogue, The Leeds Migration Partnership, Together For Peace, values, young leaders.
