Lippy People's latest group of storytellers are delighted to invite everyone to a screening of their video stories. These video stories were co-created by this group of adults with learning disabilities to highlight their experiences of loss and bereavement, as part of a project supported by Comic Relief.
The stories bring to light a number of issues and challenges associated with death and dying within this community and emphasise the significance of the continuing bonds formed with loved ones.
Lippy People Projects and Learning Manager, Pete Townson said: "The recent group of storytellers has been absolutely inspirational, both in terms of the strength they have shown through adversity, but also the companionship and support they have offered each other while sharing some very difficult and emotional experiences."
"This new collection of stories provides a clear insight into the need to improve services for members of the learning disabled community, and the importance of treating people with respect to empower them through the experience of losing loved ones."
